Synopsis: Set in a mining community in North Yorkshire in 1992. Having suffered defeat in 1984 at the hands of the Tory Government over their strike, the miners now learn that the same government have in mind a further round of pit closures. Nevertheless they prepare for a forthcoming national competition for the colliery band.
